CAA ATO
We are a fully approved and certified Approved Training Organisation (ATO)
by the UK Civil Aviation Autority (CAA).
Fully Approved Training
YAC were issued with approval from the CAA to commence with training on 14th December 2017. Our ATO registration is GBR.ATO-0486.
This followed several months of validation and checks by the CAA that the course materials, knowledge and skills of our instructors were to the standards expected of an ATO.
In addition, our instructors are authorised to teach using approved flight simulation training devices (FSTDs) for when the weather isn’t great for flying, or when working towards your IR (R) rating.
Approved Courses
Along with the standard PPL, LAPL, Night Rating and IR (R) courses we offer, we have added further courses.
As of late 2018, we are now able to complete RT (Radio Telephony) tests to be able to add the Flight Radiotelephony Operator’s Licence (FRTOL) to your flight licence.
In 2021, we started to offer full and in-depth Flight Instructor (FI) course for those pilots wishing to teach the new generation of students how to safely command an aeroplane on the ground and in the sky.
Top Quality Training
Our instructors have over 60 years of combined experience in aviation. Although YAC was only formed in 2017, the team have all worked for commercial operations at other major international airports like Leeds Bradford (EGNM) and East Midlands (EGNX), including other training organisations as well as for international long-haul operators.
YAC was formed due to the need for higher quality training in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire area at a club without the politics of many small clubs found across the country where the core aim is often lost or forgotten at a location where there is security about long term operations without the risk of land being reclaimed through construction from developers.
