Skills test pass this weekend for YAC student Max Verdicchio who has now gained his Private Pilot's Licence. Well done Max!

Another first solo to report today. This time it's James Woodland who captained the 172 around the circuit on his own for the first time. Not bad going considering he only started lessons last month!

Another skills test pass in the space of a couple of days. Today it was Abdul Khalid who passed his PPL Skills Test.

What a glorious day for flying it has been. This was definitely the case for YAC student Marek Niedzwiedz who completed his first solo. Well done Marek!

It seems like an eternity since we last reported on some student success, so it was great to see Dave Marsh complete his first solo today. With the upcoming good weather, there should be a flurry of further successes to report over the next few days....

Today we saw our first PPL skills test pass of the year as Ted Jones gained his wings at the first attempt. Well done Ted!

The final student success of 2020 goes to Kris Cavill who has completed his Night Rating this evening to go with his IMC rating which he did just before Xmas. We're now going to take the rest of the year off!

Another Night Rating completed. This time it was Richard Wong who completed the course. Although the days are now getting longer, there's still plenty of time to complete a Night Rating.

Big congratulations today to YAC student Dave Chadwick. Not only has he just completed his first solo, he's done it after only 9 hours of flight training. That's got to be a new record in our book!

Night Rating number two of the week completed this evening. This time it was Sara Wilson who has gained her twilight wings.

Making the most out of today's clear winter weather was YAC student Yasir Khan who has completed his first solo. Well done Yas!

Another Night Rating achieved at the weekend. This time it was Jon Hoare who completed the 5 hour course over the space of two evenings. Just a reminder that we are able to offer training towards the Night Rating 7 nights a week.

it's been a mix of sunshine and showers today. Thankfully the sun came through at the end of the day for James Haggarty to complete his first solo.

Another first solo to report. This time it is Bailey Travis who has gained his wings by piloting an aircraft on his own for the first time.

What a busy little week it has been for YAC student Jamie Jackson. First the night rating, immediately followed by the Instrument Rating (restricted). Hopefully we'll see him return in the spring to complete his Flight Instructor's Course.

A second one of students successfully completed their Night Rating at the weekend. This time it was Jake Didsbury who gained his wings of darkness.

The first night rating of the season has been completed tonight with Mik Kent completing the final part of the 5 hour course. We're sure there'll be plenty of others following him over the next few weeks.

First solo this morning for Russell Till. What makes this achievement extra impressive, is that Russell has achieved this great feat in under 10 hours of training. Well done!
